First Quarter Summary:
Ladue started off the game with a 17-5 lead with 2:13 left in the first quarter. Ladue’s #23) Trent Steibler had eight of the 17 points with two threes and a basket. Ladue’s #22) River Rhoads had four points a basket and two free throws but missed two free throws. Ladue’s #30) Tate Hotz had a three pointer. The other basket was by Ladue’s #34) Moses Okpala. Howell’s #2) Ryan Spears had all five points with a three and two free throws. Howell’s #4) Mike Brohm picked up his third foul with 1:18 left in the first quarter. Howell’s #20) Patrick Shulte hit a basket with 43.6 seconds left to make it Ladue 17-7. Ladue’s #3) Jaylen Boyd answered with a basket to make it Ladue 19-7. Howell’s #20) Shulte hit a three at the buzzer to make it Ladue 19-10 at the end of the first quarter.
Second Quarter Summary:
Ladue’s #30) Hotz starts the second quarter with a basket to make it Ladue 21-10 with 7: 10 left. Howell went on a 14-0 run to take the lead 24-21 with 4:54 left in the first half. Howell score four threes in a row. It started with a #11) Kyle Grantham followed by #20) Shulte and last but not least two threes by freshman #33) Matt Schark. The final points of the run was two free throws out of three free throws by #30) Matt Simmons. Ladue finished off the half with a 7-2 run to make the score at the break Ladue 32-30. Howell traded baskets in the next four possessions Howell’s #11) Grantham then Ladue’s #1) Bush and Howell’s #11) Grantham and Ladue’s #22) Rhoads all scored back to back in that order to make the score Ladue 66-49 with 3:05 left in the game. Ladue finishes off the game with a 6-0 run Ladue’s #23) Stieber hit one for two froim the line and #30) Hotz hits two free throws, #5) Jack Kittner hits one for two from the line and Ladue’s #13) Bryce Bussard hits a basket with 13.6 seconds left and the final score was Ladue 76-56.
Game Summary:
Francis Howell hung in tough for the first half to only be down two points. Howell went on a 14-0 run to take the lead. Ladue went on a 7-2 run to take the lead at the half. Ladue dominated the third quarter by out scoring Howell 17-8 and out scoring them in the fourth quarter 27-18. Ladue won the war on the boards 43-31. Ladue has a solid core and is one of the better teams in the area.
