Team Summary:
Fort Zumwalt South:
They had no answer for the great quarterback for North on offense or defense. They were down 36-0 at the half and was down 50-12 after three quarters, The second half they did score three touchdowns passes from #7) Drake Whaley to #4) Devin Williams of 72 yards, 52 yards and eight yards. They were the second best team today and were outclassed today.
Fort Zumwalt North:
It is sure fun to watch Case Brister on offense and defense. #5) Jack Ederer also had a good game had 90 yards rushing. #11) King Rue also had a good game with 3 catches and 91 yards with a touchdown. The whole offense revolves around Brister and he usually makes great decisions on when to run or pass. They also have a weapon with their Kicker #19) Matt Bennick had touchbacks on the kickoffs except for one. It should be a good one Friday at Springfield Glendale at 7pm.

Game Summary:
Parkway Central is a lot faster than St. Dominic. The defense is where it showed a lot more. They kept the Crusaders offense on their toes and very uneffective for most of the game. The Colts rushing offense ran all over the defense. The score didn’t show how much they dominated this game. They play in the district final next week at Parkway Central.
St. Dominic didn’t have an answer for the Parkway Central speed on defense or offense. They didn’t tackle very well when they did catch them. They did show some heart in the second half. #36) Jacob Larson didn’t have his regular game from the defensive speed. #5) Dominic Demerath had a better second half when he went on the keepers. I think some of the problem was they played a lot easier schedule than the Colts.

Columbia has a runner in #3) Colton Byrd and has all the moves it’s a shame he isn’t bigger 5’8″  175. Columbia’s quarterback #5) Greg Long what a weapon. He is the kicker and it was a touchback all but once and probably could hit a 50 plus yard field goal. He is above average quarterback. Long also had an interception. They had weapons and Red Bud couldnt do anything against them. Red Bud was outclassed and beaten like the other horses in the Secreteriat’s Belmont. Red Bud was missing Ryan Hess  6’3″  RB/LB  SR  6’3″  195  which had more than 1600 yards combined yards and 22 touchdowns.

Team Summary:
Trinity is very big. They have excellent players at the skilled positions and more than one at each position. They do make mistakes turnovers and costly penalties. If it wasn’t for the mistakes this score could be a lot worse than 56-22. I don’t know how there ranked 3rd in the state. It will be a great game if they play Lamar in the Championship.
John Burroughs isn’t as good as usual. They were outmanned today and never really had a chance. This is definitely a bad year for the Bombers and the other private schools trying to bolster their football programs is hurting them.

Game Summary:
The East St. Louis defense didn’t allow a touchdown after the touchdown they let up in the first 1:10 in the game. East St. Louis just made enough plays to win the game. They were faster and their quarterback is so athletic he got out of trouble with his speed. Edwardsville also played good defense and they have a division 1 player in A.J. Espenesa. He is all over the place. East St. Louis is the better team and has very good skilled players. There was a driving rain in the third and fourth quarters.
East St. Louis:
The defense was the star of this game. The Mizzou recruit #5) Reyondus Estes had a good game. He gets out of trouble with his speed and his feet. He has good arm strength. It will be interesting seeing him in the SEC. The division 1 wide receiver #4) Jeff Thomas is really quick also and can make something out of nothing. The Edwardsville defense actually did a good job with these monsters.
Edwardsville:
Edwardsville only scored one touchdown and it was in the first 1:10 of the game. They had one other drive that they were moving the ball in the fourth when they had three quarterback sneaks, Then he threw an interception that East. St. Louis turned into a touchdown. Edwardsville has a good wide out too in #3) Dayleon Harris which had a 72 yard catch. On defense they have a beast in #99) A.J. Espenesa is the best player I’ve seen all year. In my opinion Edwardsville is the fourth best large school team in the area.

Team Summary:
St. Dominic didn’t make many mistakes and have some very athletic athletes at some key positions. #5) Dominic Demerath the quarterback is very athletic and can make something happen even when there is nothing there. They have a runner that will make you pay if you dont tackle him correctly #36) Jacob Larson. The twins #10) Andrew Hoff and #15) Alex Hoff are all over the field on offense and defense.#24) Theo Pardee also had a good game. They played like the #6) team in the state in 4a.
Duchesne was coming into this game with a two game winning streak with wins over Cardinal Ritter and St. Mary’s. Duchesne got hit in the mouth and fell down and never got up. When they did move the ball in the first half they were stopped by fumbles and they also had a pick 6 in the first half. They didn’t play very a good game and was over matched in this contest.
Game Summary:
St. Dominic on their first offensive play was a 60 yard touchdown pass and followed with a pick 6 in the first 2:33 of the game . That would be the tone of the game. St. Dominic had a 22-0 lead after the first quarter and a 36-0 lead at the half. The second half started with a running clock because in high school football its a running clock when a team is winning by a 35 or more points. The second half was just going through the motions. They had two fumbles recovered one by both teams and St. Dominic also had an interception. The St. DominIc defense was stifling the whole game. St. Dominic dominated and will move up in the rankings this week.

Analysis:
The two scores by Mater Dei were when the second string was in . The score could have been a lot worse than it was. I lost count of the personal fouls called on both teams but I have a feeling I would need my toes to count them. Althoff has the best running back I have seen so far this year in #9) Jaylon Bester. He gets faster as he runs down the field. Althoff is definitely the best small school in the metro area.
