Game Summary:
The East St. Louis defense didn’t allow a touchdown after the touchdown they let up in the first 1:10 in the game. East St. Louis just made enough plays to win the game. They were faster and their quarterback is so athletic he got out of trouble with his speed. Edwardsville also played good defense and they have a division 1 player in A.J. Espenesa. He is all over the place. East St. Louis is the better team and has very good skilled players. There was a driving rain in the third and fourth quarters.
East St. Louis:
The defense was the star of this game. The Mizzou recruit #5) Reyondus Estes had a good game. He gets out of trouble with his speed and his feet. He has good arm strength. It will be interesting seeing him in the SEC. The division 1 wide receiver #4) Jeff Thomas is really quick also and can make something out of nothing. The Edwardsville defense actually did a good job with these monsters.
Edwardsville:
Edwardsville only scored one touchdown and it was in the first 1:10 of the game. They had one other drive that they were moving the ball in the fourth when they had three quarterback sneaks, Then he threw an interception that East. St. Louis turned into a touchdown. Edwardsville has a good wide out too in #3) Dayleon Harris which had a 72 yard catch. On defense they have a beast in #99) A.J. Espenesa is the best player I’ve seen all year. In my opinion Edwardsville is the fourth best large school team in the area.

Team Summary:
St. Dominic didn’t make many mistakes and have some very athletic athletes at some key positions. #5) Dominic Demerath the quarterback is very athletic and can make something happen even when there is nothing there. They have a runner that will make you pay if you dont tackle him correctly #36) Jacob Larson. The twins #10) Andrew Hoff and #15) Alex Hoff are all over the field on offense and defense.#24) Theo Pardee also had a good game. They played like the #6) team in the state in 4a.
Duchesne was coming into this game with a two game winning streak with wins over Cardinal Ritter and St. Mary’s. Duchesne got hit in the mouth and fell down and never got up. When they did move the ball in the first half they were stopped by fumbles and they also had a pick 6 in the first half. They didn’t play very a good game and was over matched in this contest.
Game Summary:
St. Dominic on their first offensive play was a 60 yard touchdown pass and followed with a pick 6 in the first 2:33 of the game . That would be the tone of the game. St. Dominic had a 22-0 lead after the first quarter and a 36-0 lead at the half. The second half started with a running clock because in high school football its a running clock when a team is winning by a 35 or more points. The second half was just going through the motions. They had two fumbles recovered one by both teams and St. Dominic also had an interception. The St. DominIc defense was stifling the whole game. St. Dominic dominated and will move up in the rankings this week.

Analysis:
The two scores by Mater Dei were when the second string was in . The score could have been a lot worse than it was. I lost count of the personal fouls called on both teams but I have a feeling I would need my toes to count them. Althoff has the best running back I have seen so far this year in #9) Jaylon Bester. He gets faster as he runs down the field. Althoff is definitely the best small school in the metro area.
