Team Summary:
McCluer started off slow with four turnovers and nine points scored off of them and was down 10 after one. McCLuer stayed the same 10 points behind after two quarters with both teams scoring 20 a piece. They got wore down by Whitfield and didnt have an answer for Whitfield’s #5) Watson and only scored seven points in the fourth quarter.

Whitfield started off fast and had a 10 point lead after one quarter and #2) Amechi Ramsey scored nine points in the first quarter. #5) Watson started to take over in the second quarter and scored 11 points in the second but didn’t improve on the 10 point lead. Whitfield’s #5) Watson scored another eight points in the third quarter but turned the ball over four times and five points scored off of them and lost four points of the ten point lead. The fourth quarter they outscored McCluer 19-7 in the fourth quarter and hit 9 out of 10 free throws in the fourth.

Alton was only up sixteen at half and then turned up the defense and scored 15 points off turnovers in the third quarter and out scored Granite City 24-8. They have some athletes and was much the best today. They can shoot the three too. They will win some games this year and probably underrated.

1. Vashon 3-0 Beat Chicago Whitney Young in the Chicago Elite, They have a must see player in Mario McKinney
2. Belleville West 5-1 went 3-1 in The Tournament of Champions in Washington, IL. They have a solid five and a must see in EJ Liddell
3. Chaminade 1-1 Lost to Chicago Simeone but rebounded with a 32 point win against Eureka, lost Barrignton Davis but have a solid team and loves to run. Hellems (NC State) is a must see also
4. Hazelwood Central 4-0 won The Vianney Tournament. .They have a solid team and a must see in Shaun Williams (Kansas State). We will find out more next week
5. Webster Groves 1-0 is without Courtney Ramey. Their first game didn’t look too good against M-RH. Even with Ramey not as good as last year. Carte’ Are Gordon (SLU) must see
6. CBC 2-2 losses have come to Memphis East a national power and Springfield Lanphier. They beat #6) East St. Louis by 13 points. Wallace and Love are a lot better than last year. Play St.Mary’s 12/08
7. East St. Louis 4-1 They have played a tough schedule so far and only loss is to CBC. They have a must see player Terrance Hargove Jr. and they added Joe Reese from Vashon’s team last year
8. St. Mary’s 6-0 won the Redbird Tipoff, They still have the big three in Collins, Burks and Rasas. They lost Kelvin Lee and that will hurt this team a lot. Play #6) CBC on 12/08
9. Parkway Central 4-0 not a very tough schedule yet but closest game was 14 points. We will find out next week how good they are. They have a must see in DeAndre Campbell
10. Whitfield 4-2 their two losses were to #4) Hazelwood Central and a good Chicago Corliss team. They won the Pattonville Tournament. They have a must see in Torrence Watson (Mizzou)

Team Summary:
Hillcrest was rated in the top 10 in their class at the time of the game. They didn’t have the size to stay with Oak Park. They were only down 51-50 after three quarters and Oak Park wore them down and Oak Park shot 10 free throws in the fourth quarter and made six of them. Balanced scoring had three in double figures.

Oak Park was also rated in the top 10 in their class and still is #10. They were a little bigger than Hillcrest. They have some athletes. They wore them down in the fourth after only being up one point after three quarters. They will win some games and so will Hillcrest. It was a good game to watch.

Team Summary:
Hazelwood Central was only down one point after the first half. Rock Bridge turned up the defense and the press and Rock Bridge’s #12) McCallister had 20 point third quarter. Central had a freshman starting #5) Nariyah Simmons had a tough night tonight but watch out she is going to be tough. They have tow players in #10) White and #50) Williams. Central not nearly as good as usual.

Rock Bridge scored 56 points and 55 of them were scored by three players. Rock Bridge’s #12) Payton McCallister scored 20 points just in the third quarter and was named the MVP of the game. They are ranked 2nd in the state but basically a down year.

They were worn out in the fourth from the size difference and was outrebounded 48-38 in the game. It was Battle’s first game of the year.

Warrenton kids have played together for some time and works the ball. You really couldn’t tell how good they really are. I want to see them against better competition. Next Game  Thu 11/30  6:30pm vs O’Fallon Christian
