| Large Schools | ||||||||
| 1. Edwardsville 25-1 They have one of the hottest recruits in the nation in Mark Smith. They are #23 in the MaxPreps National Poll. | ||||||||
| 2. Webster Groves 23-2 They havent lost in 2017 and on a 17 game winning streak. The win streak included Morgan Park, Iowa City West (#1 Iowa), and Vashon. #24) MaxPreps National Preps | ||||||||
| 3. East St. Louis 17-7 They have losses against Edwardsville (2), Althoff, Tennessee team, Florida team, Chicago Curie, Champaign Central. There in the toughest conference in the Metro area. | ||||||||
| 4. Belleville West 18-8 They’re in the toughest conference in the area. They have the best sophomore in the area in EJ Liddell. The only team to beat Edwardsville this year, | ||||||||
| 5. SLUH 20-6 Their last 2 games were wins against CBC and Chaminade and won their conference for the first time. Their last three losses were against Vashon, Webster Groves and St. Mary’s. They have been a lot better since Brent Smith came back from injury. | ||||||||
| 6. Chaminade 20-5 They have a 4-4 record in last 8 games including losses against SLUH and CBC. They were unbeatable in the middle of the season but look like there not in sync for the playoffs. | ||||||||
| 7. CBC 17-9 They have losses against SLUH (2), St. Mary’s (2), Hazelwood Central, Chicago North Lawndale, Chaminade, Peoria Manual and Champaign Central so they don’t have any bad losses. They lost 5 of first 8 so they finished the season 14-4 | ||||||||
| 8. Belleville East 15-12 They might have had the toughest schedule in the area. They have an all metro palyer in Javon Pickett. They’re in the toughest conference in the area. | ||||||||
| 9. Hazelwood Central 16-10 They had a tough schedule this year. I don’t like the loss to McCluer North but was competitive against Vashon and Kickapoo. | ||||||||
| 10. Francis Howell 21-5 They won the GAC South Champions. They have a good core and an excellent coach. They havent played the toughest schedule but only lost 5 games. | ||||||||
| Small Schools | ||||||||
| 1. Vashon 20-3 They lost a tough one to Webster Groves. They came right back with a big effort against Hazelwood Central. | ||||||||
| 2. St. Mary’s 23-3 Won a big one over Cardinal Ritter. The second best small school in the area but still has to beat Vashon in the playoffs. | ||||||||
| 3.. Okawville 27-3 They are on a 10 game winning streak. They only have three losses all year. They play Carrollton on the 2/28. They beat Breese Central that was on a 21 game winning streak. | ||||||||
| 4. Breese Central 24-4 They were on a 21 game winning streak when they took their 4th lost to Okawville on 2/17. They play next on 2/28 at Civic Memorial | ||||||||
| 5. Jennings 21-4 I don’t like the loss to Parkway West. They have only loss four times and played some tough ones earlier in the year. | ||||||||
| 6. Cardianl Ritter 20-6 They have an 8-2 record in the last 10 and had St. Mary’s on the ropes and leth them off. They have a tough sectional Wednesday at SC West against Northwest Academy. | ||||||||
| 7. Alton Marquette 28-3 They have some good wins as of late Gibault (2), Mc Cluer North, They have a 21-1 record in the last 22 games. They play Wesclin on March 1st | ||||||||
| 8. Cahokia 18-10 They have played a very tough schedule. They have wins against Champaign Central, Carbondale, Centralia. They save Thomas “Taco” Bell is a must see. | ||||||||
| 9. Northwest Academy 18-9 including 4 forfeits in the 1st 4 games of the season. They have losses against Vashon, CBC, Ritenour, Chicago Brooks and Effingham so they have no bad losses. | ||||||||
| 10. Althoff 17-10 They have a 3-5 record since Jordan Goodwin shut down because of his shoulder injury. They had a great game against CBC and lost by 2 points. | ||||||||
