Belleville East got beat on the boards and #4) Pickett missed three crucial free throws and would of put it out of reach but East St. Louis held tough and hit a buzzer beater to force overtime. #4) Pickett went three for six at the free throw line. They couldn’t score in overtime and the Flyers scored 12 points in overtime. #4) Pickett missed free throws in overtime was crucial.
East St. Louis couldn’t stop the fast start of Belleville East. They cut into the lead in every quarter. The second quarter #4) Travion Vickers hit three three pointers to keep the Flyers in the game and actually made up four points to be down nine at the half. The scoring was a little slower in the third quarter but #4) Vickers hit a three and #2) Estes hit a three point play to get the lead down to five after three quarters. Tilmon scored two baskets and #1) Kerion Stairs hit a three to get the scored tied at 56 with 5:17 left. They traded baskets most of the rest of the fourth quarter with #23) Tilmon scoring three baskets. Then with 4.6 seconds left #10) Arthur Carter hit a buzzer beater to force overtime with the score tied at 72. East St. Louis took over in overtime with #2) Reyondous Estes taking a leadership roll and wouldn’t let the Flyers lose and he scored four points in overtime. Belleville East’s bad free throw shooting didn’t hurt.
