First Quarter Summary:
The scoring started off slowly for both teams. The score after one quarter St. Charles 12-10. St. Charles #33) Branden Wiggs led all scorers after one with 6 points
Second Quarter Summary:
The scoring in the second quarter wasn’t much better. St. Charles was trying to put some space between them and West but West hung tough and was losing 25-22 at the break. St. Charles #2) Micah Hughes had seven points for the quarter and 12 for the half.
Third Quarter Summary:
St. Charles and Micah Hughes started off the third quarter with a 7-3 run with St. Charles West #00) Stephen Frazier hit the three. The score was St. Charles 32-25 after the run. St. Charles West’s #10) Trent Champagne and #30) Josh Anderson hit the next 13 points for West to get them within one point St. Charles 39-38. St. Charles scored the last four points of the quarter to make the score St. Charles 43-38 after three quarters. St. Charles #2) Micah Hughes scored 11 points for the quarter and St. Charles West’s #10) Champagne scored seven for the quarter adn #30) Anderson scored six for the quarter.
Fourth Quarter Summary:
The fourth quarter started with both teams exchanging baskets but West’s basket was a three by #10) Champagne to get the St. Charles lead down to four 45-41. The two teams exchanged baskets aand then exchanged threes St. Charles #2) Hughes and West’s #3) Nick Bazzell scored the threes to make the St. Charles lead stay at four 50-46-. St. Charles’s #44) Codi Whitlock hit a basket and #20) Cameron Teson hit his first two points of the game with free throws with 58.3 seconds left. #33) Branden Wiggs hit three out of five free throws to extend the lead to 13 points 58-46. St. Charles West ended the game with a basket by West’s #10) Champagne and the final score was 58-48.
Game Summary:
St. Charles West played a box and one on St. Charles’s #20) Cameron Teson and it worked but #2) Micah Hughes had a game high 28 points. West’s #31) Tommie Whitney had 0 pointd and only took three shots and had four rebounds. He needs to be a near a double-double to make West sucessful. #10) Trent Champagne kept West somewhat close with his team high 14 points
St. Charles was playing without there two leading scorers from last year Drew Cannon and Nick DeBeer. Micah Hughes lit up for 28 points and did some damage from the three point arc. #20) Cameron Teson was held scoreless to 58 seconds left in the game. The two St. Charles big guys did some damage inside with #44) Codi Whitlock had 10 points and #33) Braden Wiggs had 13 points.
